Dumo Mbethe is a qualified Chartered Accountant and business leader with 20 years’ experience in financial services. He is a Harvard Business School alumnus, having completed its Advanced Management Programme (AMP).
Dumo joined Momentum Metropolitan in 2017 as COO of Momentum Metropolitan Africa and Asia. He soon progressed to become CEO of Momentum Metropolitan Africa, the role he held prior to becoming the CEO of Momentum Corporate in 2019.
He joined the group from Old Mutual where he was General Manager – Member Solutions in the Corporate business and held various leadership roles across the Old Mutual Africa business prior to that. He completed his articles at PwC in Johannesburg.
Dumo has previously served on various country level boards within Momentum Metropolitan Africa and is currently a non-executive director for the Metropolitan International Holdings and Metropolitan Internal Support Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Actuarial Governance Board, which oversees the professional conduct of actuaries in South Africa, and, served as a Board Member for aYo – a joint venture between Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited and MTN.
